This summer I’ve had some time to reflect on everything. But it’s the small stuff that keeps my brain going. Interesting facts like the sum of the first eight prime numbers is 77 keeps me thinking and calculating.
I’m always looking for numbers that relate to 77. My wife was born in 1977. I usually check page 77 of books that I’m reading to see if there is anything significant. Last week when I was driving on the highway on the the way to Georgia, it was 77 degrees just when I had driven 77 miles.
Am I the only one who does stuff like this?

Kevin, I wanted to make sure that I had the right net address.
It was really nice to meet you and your family at St. James in Jermyn I’m the “older” guy who spoke to you and your wife about my having been in the PI.
“7′s” My birthday was 7/27/46. Other than that, I’m a 3 person.
What was interesting about your appearance at our church is that I have been considering getting involved in church related work in the PI. My wife was always deeply involved with helping the less fortunate, especially children. I was her helper, but she was always finding ways to help kids. It brought us a lot of joy. Most times the kids never knew where the help came from. It didn’t matter to us.
Patty was a natural with kids. She also worked in a pediatricians office for many years. I’m not the people person that she was, so my getting involved with kids would have to be on a less personal contact and more project or admistrative level.
I wanted to take her to the PI, but her illness and passing precluded that. Going there now, without her, just to visit, wouldn’t be the same. But, returning with a purpose, would be special.
We can continue a conversation by email. I am a very practical person and know that having other practical people on the scene avoids the pitfalls that moving blindly into a situation can bring.
It was somewhat startling to see your wife at church Sunday, given what I’ve been considering for the last few weeks.
All the best,
Jerry
